Search Engine Optimization
or SEO is the methods and strategy used to rank a website, and it’s content, higher in search engines such as Google, Bing, and Yahoo’s to result in higher and more unpaid results. (Often referred to as “organic”, or “earned” results). In general, the higher ranked and more frequently a site appears in the search results list, the more visitors it will receive from the search engine’s users. These visitors can then be converted into New Customers, “Page Hits”, and “Social Media Likes”. There are really two parts to SEO, the first is the technical part of it and the second is more the branding & marketing among online businesses of your type.
As an Internet marketing strategy, SEO considers how search engines work, what people search for, the actual search terms or keywords typed into search engines and which search engines are preferred by their targeted audience. Optimizing a website may involve editing its content language; HTML, and associated coding to both increase its relevance to specific keywords and to remove barriers to the indexing activities of search engines. Promoting a site to increase the number of back-links, or inbound links, is another SEO tactic. Google is also now ranking Responsive Websites higher. By May 2016, mobile search had surpassed desktop search. Google is developing and pushing mobile search as the future in all of its products. In response, SEO experts are beginning to change their internet strategies, and take into account how a Website presents itself on cell phones and tablets.
